Divorce and Christians.
We know that Jewish men were likely to do a great number of divorcing. And they searched for any reason to do this. It’s obvious that women had little power in that kind of society. So they were ruled by men. Of course I’m talking about Bible times.

Let’s look closer at this problem of relationships between opposite sexes from our Christian point of view. In fact if you have ever read the Bible then you might have found out that God doesn’t like divorce at all. As for me I’ve been reading this magnificent book for many years from chapter to chapter but I’m also unable find even a slight resemblance of God’s tolerance to divorce. So exactly at this point our points of view coincide. If you want more details regarding this then you should look through Malachi 2:16 and there you’ll find the evidence of God’s attitude. By the way Jesus told that it was impossible to separate a man and a woman if God had united them into a single entity. If don’t mistake this statement you can find in Mark 10:6-9. I suppose that exactly this statement is very difficult to understand because every human is considered to be a completely unique personality. But anyway it’s true. But at the same time we should pay attention to one peculiar detail closely connected with sins. The matter is that God didn’t tell that divorce was sinful but he pointed out to a sinful nature of marriage. You can find this in Mark 10:11-12 if you wish. In fact nobody knows God’s will but at the same time we have to stick to established rules.

Let’s look at Matthew 5:32. There Jesus told that if there was something similar to marital unfaithfulness then one could divorce and got married once again. So as you can see this matter is rather difficult to understand especially for those ones who have only started reading the Bible. But when living with an unbeliever both parties have more rights to divorce especially if unbeliever takes the initiative in this matter.

So summarizing the value of all mentioned above we can come to conclusion we can say that there are two main reasons for Christians to get divorced and get married once again. The first one deals with sexual unfaithfulness and as for the second one it’s closely connected with an unbelieving spouse canceling marriage.

As you can see a complete madness is going on around us as for divorcing. People divorce very often to my great regret. But we shouldn’t forget about our Christian values. Don’t forget reading the Bible and perhaps there you can find all answers to questions confusing you especially those ones closely connected with divorce. I hope you won’t face divorce in your life.
